Candie Sweetser Appointed Vice-Chair to the House Agriculture and Water Committee Bringing Economic Opportunity to Southwestern New Mexico
(Santa Fe, NM) – Recently elected Representative Candie Sweetser (D-Deming) was honored at the start of the 53rd legislative session with an appointment as Vice-Chair of the House Agriculture and Water Committee where she will focus on economic opportunity in her district and throughout the state. Representative Sweetser was also appointed to serve on the House Appropriations and Finance Committee, assuming a pivotal role in the effort in shaping New Mexico’s budget and priorities.

The House Agriculture and Water Committee focuses specifically on legislation related to the regulation, safety and study of agricultural products and water throughout the state. The House Appropriations and Finance committee hears bills related to the solvency of the state’s budget and the appropriation of taxpayer dollars to state-provided services and programs.
